Vintage 1922

"LaFayette We Are Here"

CALENDAR

This stiff cardboard frame has a sepia toned photo of a soldier laying a wreath at The Grave of LaFayette...the sign on the wreath reads:  "A Fellow Soldier In the Cause of Liberis W. Wilber ? USA ... I'm guess at the last name because it is blurry when I enlarge the photo.

There is a small 1922 calendar attached to the frame.  The top left corner has a logo with the letter A H T (possible army?).  There is a poem printed at the bottom along with "167 Hick-A-Thrift boys were "Fellow Soldiers in the Cause of Liberty"  On battlefield - in prison-camp - in air - on land and sea, they faced the foe and did not flinch."

The photo does not have any information written on the backside of it. It measures approx 3 1/2" x 5".  The total calendar frame measures 7" x 7 1/2".

Photo and frame are in good condition, considering it to be almost 100 years old.  There is wear along edges and corners and some moisture damage along edges of frame.  Photo and frame show light dirtying.  Tassel cord at top for hanging.

I do not own the negative to this photo.  It is an original, authentic print.
