DESCRIPTION: This is a very nice, VERY SCARCE & DESIRIBLE "POSTAGE STAMP" antique baby quilt. HAND MADE OF 399 1" squares. Nice variety of typical 1930's fabrics. Scans show it all. Appears to be hand pieced and is hand quilted. QUILTING NICELY HAND DONE. This quilt has the very nice, soft and clean feel to the touch that often goes with an antique quilt.
Has blue binding which is in perfect condition. It has a nice colorful scrappy appearance overall, and could be used in a cradle or pram display, or as a small wall hanging.
THIS IS AN ORIGINALLY MADE BABY QUILT, AND WAS NOT CUT DOWN FROM A LARGER QUILT. ORIGINAL BABY SIZE QUILTS ARE VERY SCARCE AND ALWAYS IN HIGH DEMAND.
Has 2 minor stains on the muslin back (shown) and the fabric on 1 of the squares has deteriorated somewhat (can easily be repaired if desired). Otherwise in excellent condition. Both stains are in one corner of the back, and they might come out with washing. I have not
laundered this and prefer to keep my quilts just as they come from the old estate.
A VERY NICE LOOKING QUILT FOR DISPLAY OR AS BACKGROUND FOR ANY ANTIQUE QUILT COLLECTION.
Anyway, it is a nice looking antique piece!!! AND ESPECIALLY NICE BEING AN ORIGINAL ANTIQUE BABY QUILT!!! Measures approximately 35" x 29".
