About ClutchMax Solid Flywheel Upgrade Sets:
- Stock clutch set ups on most newer BMW's use a dual mass flywheel. Dual mass flywheels are generally pretty heavy and leave a lot to be desired in terms of performance and durability under heavy use such as track driving. One of the easiest ways to change the driving characteristics of your BMW is to delete the dual mass flywheel and replace it with solid flywheel that is significantly lighter than stock. Combined with the deletion of the dual mass flywheel you can now use a more traditional sprung hub damped disc plate and also delete the self adjusting mechanism that is part of the pressure plate on most newer BMW's. This kit uses a high performance HD organic sprung hub clutch disc and matches it along with the appropriate HD pressure plate. Combined with the 15 lbs lightweight flywheel you'll get quicker engine response and a better feeling clutch that's designed to handle more abuse.
