Contribution a la Faune Ichtyologique du Congo Belge - Collections du Dr. H. Schouteden (1924-1926) et d'autres recolteurs

(Contributions to the ichthyological fauna of the Belgian Congo - collections of Dr. H. Schouteden (1924-1926) and other collectors).

Annales du Musee du Congo Belge, Tervuren - Zoologie Series I, Tome III, Fasc. 5, pages 189-294, 1 plate, text figures

This is a large format, folio publication, an early broadly inclusive presentation on the fishes of the Congo Basin.  There are 30+ text figures (black and white photographs), and map of the Congo as a plate.

Articles in this this journal series were issued unbound, in a folded folio cover.  These are important works in African ichthyology, and copies are increasingly difficult to find.

As you can see in photos, text and folio cover are present.

Condition - The text is good, considering age.  Paper is age toned, but flexible and clean, not brittle.  I see no marks.  No foxing.  The folio cover is fair.  A previous owner's  name is written in red pencil on cover (front toward top).  The folds are ragged here and there and a piece is missing from the front.  See photos.
