DESCRIPTION

The first edition thus of this work, being the first edition of van der Palm's important translation.

Complete in three volumes.

In Danish.

A thorough Danish translation of the Bible, containing both the Old and the New Testaments.

This translation is considered to be a highly scholarly document, as it was the first Dutch translation direct from the documents in their original languages.

Van der Palm used the Masoretic Text, Samaritan Pentateuch, and the Received Text for this translation.

Translated by Johannes Hendircus van der Palm.


CONDITION

In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Light rubbing to the boards and spines. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Leather to the head of the front board of Volume I is lifting a little. Crack to the tail of the front joint of Volume I. A little loss of paper to the rear board of Volume I. Paper is lifting to the extremities a little. Crack to the front joint and tail of the rear joint of Volume II. Small loss of paper to the front joint of Volume II, with some paper lifting to the rear board to the fore edge. Crack to the head of the rear joint of Volume III. Small loss to the head of the spine of Volume III. Head of the spine of Volume III is lifting. Front hinge of Volume II is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean, with a few odd spots. Light tidemark to the tail of the first few pages of Volume II.
