The decorative and applied art of Dagestan reflects the rich inner world of the peoples of the republic, its connection with the surrounding nature. The history of the region, which is more than one thousand years old, is reflected in folk crafts. Silverware, intended for both everyday and festive life of the people, reveals the artistic functions of folk art, its deep spiritual essence. Dagestan art absorbed both Western and Eastern traditions, since the Caspian lowland was at the intersection of the routes connecting Eastern Europe with Western Asia.
