1. super-telephoto shooting and super-telephoto macro shooting are now possible, further expanding the shooting range
The focal length can be doubled while maintaining the high descriptive performance of the master lens. By doubling the focal length of the lens, subjects that are difficult to get close to, such as small birds and animals, can be made into more powerful works.
For example, when attached on "M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO", minimum focusing distance is approx. 1.43m and maximum magnification is 0.48x, which is almost equal to 35㎜ format equivalent 0.96x. This enables you to take magnified images of human-sensitive insects from a distance. Depth Composition can also be used to create an image in which the entire image is in focus even when shooting with super telephoto lenses, which tend to have shallow depth of field.
2. Dedicated design to take advantage of the high image quality of the master lens
The use of an HR lens in the 4-group, 9-element lens construction suppresses chromatic aberration and other aberrations and doubles the focal length while taking advantage of the high optical performance of the master lens. In addition, the lens is designed to minimize ghosting and flare, resulting in excellent descriptive performance.
