RARE CASED SHEFFIELD MOTHER OF PEARL SOLID SILVER BLADED LETTER OPENER 1824

On offer today is a splendid genuine Sheffield Mother of Pearl Handled Silver Bladed Letter Opener. The handle is made out of Mother of pearl and is in fantastic condition for its age. The Solid Silver blade is fully hallmarked with the letter a (with a crown above) for 1824 along with the Lion Passant, Monarchs Head and the Makers mark which is AH - the Makers Mark for the very famous Aaron Hadfield. The Mother of Pearl handle on this particular letter opener is pristine as the photos reflect and looks very special. The marks are deep, clear and crisp on this piece. The blade is beautifully crafted. The letter opener is 19.5 cm in length and weighs a hefty 35 grammes.
