Southern Magnolia Seedling

grandaflora L.

AKA as the Southern Magnolia or Bull Bay;

Seedling(s) is currently approximately 3” ~ 6+/-” Tall

A member of the  Magnoliaceae family;

Native to the southeastern United States, from Virginia south to central Florida, and west to eastern Texas and Oklahoma.  Features leathery leaves 5–10" in length, lustrous dark green on top with a soft, rusty underside. Needs protection from winter sun and winds in northern areas.

Reaching 90 + feet in height; Magnolias prefer a spot in the garden that receives full sun to light shade. That said, if you live in a particularly warm or dry climate, your magnolia might benefit from a location shaded from the hot afternoon sun.

Magnolias are adaptable to clay, loam or sand soils, but most grow poorly in wet or poorly drained soils. Well-established plants can be moderately drought tolerant.

A large striking evergreen tree with large dark green leather like leaves that have a brown suede type formation on the back side.  I use these in grapevine wreaths and for Christmas Holiday, ie large/small branches around/over fireplace(s), doors and/or windows, pictures, etc.; or just leaves as lining under punch bowls, or under the traditional Williamsburg apple decorations;  inside and outside too.

Once established and grown, the large white VERY fragrant flowers are gorgeous, somewhat lemony fragrance. I pick one, place it in a bowl of water in my kitchen and the fragrance fills the whole house.  If outside, you can smell the tree/flowers within a block, etc.

The timber is hard and heavy, and has been used commercially to make furniture, pallets, and veneer.

The seeds of Southern magnolia are mildly poisonous if eaten by humans. (Wild birds and squirrels do not seem to be adversely affected.)

Please make your payment within three (3) days; I will send a reminder on the third day, IF payment is not made, an Unpaid Item notice will have to be filed, per eBay's rules.

It is the buyer's responsibility to check their address while making payment. While paying, your address will be shown - make sure it is correct/current, THAT is the only address I will use to ship your purchase to.

Please keep in mind ~ when rating the shipping cost in the FEEDBACK portion of our transaction, I try to be as accurate as I can be on the shipping fees.

Also, it is very difficult to pinpoint the exact cost of shipping since there are so many variables in the sizes/weight of the seedling(s), including packing materials needed to preserve the plants during shipping, etc.

I TREAT MY CUSTOMERS THE WAY I WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED.

I cannot accept returns. The seedlings are healthy, when shipped. I have no control over care received once they leave my hands.

NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - Sorry, I only ship to the continental US

I will email you the day the item is shipped to you so you know the expected delivery date.
