This is an original late 19th Century Ching Period Han Chinese Silver Foo Dog Charm / Talisman in Fine to Very Fine condition.  This wonderful Charm with the common Double Happiness Knot has both a round wood & cylindrical coral adornment.  The piece hangs from a burnt orange colored knotted cord.  Please note the deep grey patina as well as the lively curved tail.  This particular silver charm / talisman was purchased by my father in 1980 while he was in Hong Kong for his semi-annual buying trip for his antique shop.  This is a well documented antique collecting category - please refer to reference books that outline the richness of this type of Chinese silver artisanship.  I particularly enjoy a book by Margaret Duda that can be purchased online.
