Up for auction:

  • 1 x vintage stacking chair only.  More chairs available.
  • 22 additional photos to view here (highlight. go to:) https://flic.kr/s/aHsmWFiJEr
  • Circa: 1960-70s.
  • Maker/ model: designed by Dick Russell for Gordon Russell Furniture.  The chair was first commissioned in 1962 for Coventry Cathedral and has since been known as the "Coventry" chair.  The chair has been influenced by the Cotswold's Arts & Crafts Movement.
  • The chair is extremely well made and had originally been designed to withstand constant use.  The frame is constructed from solid oak - which has a slight green hue (possibly caused by having a protective polyurethane finish), has an integrated backrest, and incorporates peg and finger joints.  It has a slatted seat that also houses a storage compartment underneath complete with hanging knob.
  • Measurements: 53cm widest point x 44cm deepest point x 44cm sitting height/ 72cm back height.
  • Great vintage condition with expected minor/ light age and use wear + 1 chair has marks to its seat (this will be the last chair to be sold) but otherwise all are very sturdy, without damage, and good to go.
  • Collection welcome from Birmingham B6 4TN or send me your postcode for a delivery quote.
  • A scarce vintage "Coventry" stacking chair - don't miss it!!
