Item for sale is a c.1940 postcard from France printed by Valentine & Son and illustrated by Florence E. Valter.  Postcard illustration depicts a wire fox terrier laying cozy in bed under the covers with his bone nearby.  Caption reads, "This is a bit of all right!" and "Je n'ai plus rien a desirer!".

Some history on the postcard.  This postcard was written by a soldier in the French military, Camille Edmond Hispiche, to his mother in Paris, Jehanne Hispiche, just after the Germans invaded in 1940.  The first line says it all, "Happy I would be if I didn't need to worry."  Date is based on other cards in the collection with more precise dates.  Though it appears to be unposted, it is possible that this was delivered as part of the military post service which allowed military personnel to send mail free.

Note: In the U.S., card will be shipped using eBay's Standard Envelope service in a plain white envelope with a thin cardboard stiffener.  If a more sturdy method of shipping is desired, please contact me before purchasing.  For International shipments, card will be shipped in a padded envelope with thick cardboard stiffener.
