DESCRIPTION

Detailing the lives of such birds as the water-hen, the peregrine falcon, the redwing, the pheasant and the heron, amongst others.

Written by Maud Doria Haviland (1889-1941), an English ornithologist, writer and explorer.

Illustrated by Patten Wilson (1869-1934), an British illustrator known for contributing to 'The Yellow Book', as well as for illustrating 'A Child's History of England' by Charles Dickens, 'The Gospel Story of Jesus Christ' and 'Selections from Coleridge'.

Illustrated with eight full plate illustrations in colour, as well as fifty in-text illustrations. Collated, complete.

Bound in the publisher's original charming pictorial cloth.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally very smart, with just a little wear to the head and tail of the spine and the extremities. Ownership bookplate to the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
