This is a Cherry Wood Caned Chair. It was originally purchased at Church Bazaar in Providence, R.I. It was professionally re-caned by a craftsman who really knew how do work it. Age unknown but assuming it must be from the 40's or 50's. Never sat on or been used since restoration of it. Excellent condition for its age. Very solid and sturdy.
