The electric starter system on these KTM & Husqvarna models is a know weakness. This is why the OEM launched a service bulletin to inspect and clean the starting system every 20 hours or once per year. 

The main root cause of the failure is the weak original bushing made of Teflon that wears quickly leading to axial clearance which causes damages in starting system (bendix and/or crown wheel) and in a worst case, may create big damages in the engine casing. 

An easy solution, to improve the reliability of the starter system, is to replace the low quality OEM bushes with precision-made bronze bushes. Made to a higher tolerance, from phosphor bronze, these bushes are self-lubricating and maintenance-free.

This kit contains 4 bushes for models up to 2016 carburation KTM & Husqvarna (250&300) and KTM Freeride 250R

Bushings for other bike models available. Ask for it.
