Seymour Duncan
Antiquity II
The 60's Twang For Tele
Pickup Set

Summary

Our tribute to the 1960s gray bottom for Tele lead pickup. Bright and twangy with a slight softening of the treble response.

Description

The Antiquity II For Tele bridge is built with specially calibrated, hand ground alnico 5 rod magnets with the period correct pole stagger. There is plenty of snap and bounce of the low strings, and on the high strings this pickup gives you that classic for Tele twang, but without the dreaded ice pick harshness. Hand built in our Custom Shop, the Antiquity II For Tele recreates the look and sound from the 60s. We use custom aged, gray bottom flatwork, brass plated steel bottom plate, vintage push-back cloth wire, and each pickup is lacquered, and wax potted like the originals.

Summary

Seymour wound this for Tele rhythm pickup as the perfect match for the unique picking style and intricate bends he used on his mid-60s maple neck Tele.

Description

The Antiquity II For Tele Rhythm pickup uses hand ground alnico 5 rod magnets, and a special coil wind to deliver a clear, bright, balanced for Tele neck tone. There is plenty of warmth, snap, and crisp detail that makes this a great pickup for players who use a hybrid picking style, or do lots of string bending. Hand built in our Custom Shop, the Antiquity II For Tele Rhythm recreates the look and sound from the 60s. We use a custom aged, deep drawn cover, grey bottom flatwork, vintage push-back cloth wire, and each pickup is lacquered, and wax potted like the originals. Pair with our Antiquity II For Tele Lead pickup for the ultimate 60s style Tele.

The Seymour Duncan Antiquity II Twang for Tele hark back to the mid '60s. The tone and look are faithful, but they are wax potted to reduce unwanted feedback when using high powered amps and effects.

To some, this is craziness, intentionally creating an aged electrical component. But if you're like Seymour Duncan, and you appreciate the personal commitment and hand craftsmanship found in early electric guitars, then you'll want to capture that timeless beauty with an Antiquity pickup.
