Here is a truly wonderful find for your midcentury collection: A square double wicked unscented candle in its own metal stand. The candle shows a typical mod scene in yellow and orange of a happy sun over two flowers and a bird which stands in a small garden with another flower. The scene seems to be painted onto the candle and has some small areas of discoloration (please see pictures).

The stand is firmly attached to the candle and I have not tried to remove the candle from the stand, even though is seems possible. The elegant stand is very well made out of light metal. The candle itself is flat (like a tile), not decorated on the back, and the front edges are colored in orange, which gives a more three dimensional appearance of the painted scene.

The candle gives off a very happy vibe and reminds me of design pieces of the 50s and 60s made in Denmark or Sweden.
