Rare antique 19thC repousse and chased bronze Happy Buddha Hotei. It's rare because this is not casted bronze.
With bronze casting, once a mold and production is established, hundred of statues can be produce repeatedly. However, repousse bronze is hand made art and craft with each statue has to be hammer out and thus a low production and most of them would be unique. There's evident that he once covered with gilt but almost all of it is gone.
