ABOUT THIS RARE BEAUTY:

This unusual watch has a two-tone dial which is marked "West End Watch Co, Extra, Bombay, Calcutta, Swiss Made". The movement has exactly the same wording. It is nicely jeweled, but I can see no jewel count. The case is sterling silver and has the Swiss silver hallmarks and the number .925. It has an inner dust cover which is also sterling silver and similarly marked. I understand that some of these early West End watches had movements that were made by Longines. I can't find any Longines name or logo on this watch, but if the serial number on the movement is a Longines numbers, it would date the watch to about 1919. The watch is running nicely. This is quite a large watch. The case measures about 35mm in diameter excluding the crown. It is also quite heavy, and is in decent condition for such an old watch. There is some scuffing and minor nicking, but no nasty damage that I can see. Some of the luminous material is missing from the hours numbers, but it looks intact on the hands. The crystal is thick glass and is scratchy, but doesn't interfere with the readability of the dial. This watch would certainly make an interesting addition to any collection of antique wristwatches. Please NOTE: The description of the watch above regarding "I" is refers to the original ebay seller! This is not written by me.

The description of this watch is "100%" according to the original ebay listing two decades ago when it was purchased.

This watch was serviced by a highly respected professional VINTAGEWATCHMAKER at the time of purchase. A new band was put on at the same time. This watch has never been wore by anyone and has been in storage for two decades. A quick test confirm the watch is still running right before I list this watch. A follow up service by a watchmaker is highly recommended after your purchase. This is a vintage watch, please keep in mind that almost no mechanical vintage watch keeps accurate time like quartz. The last seller listed this watch as "Men's Watch", but I personally think that nowadays vintage watch like this can be classified as "Unisex". You will be the one to make that decision!

I don't have the skill and/or the tool to open the watch to show the movement inside!
