Vintage 1946 Piccadilly Club Solid Copper Oil Lamps Debuting The Moscow Mule Solid Copper Beer Mug that was all the rave in the 1940’s & 1950’s.  I received these lamps from my grandmother before her passing. She told me they were used on the tables for the Piccadilly Club in Reno.  They were made to highlight the new “Moscow Mule” Mug that made its debut at this club in 1946. As you can see the bottom portion of the lamp is an actual Moscow Mule Mug. The Moscow Mule mugs are made by Cock’ N Bull and are marked as such. These lamps were made for the Piccadilly Club and are not marked with the makers mark. The only stamp is that on the front of the lamp. It reads, “Piccadilly, Venite Vos Prodg, Reno” inside a coat of arms.  These are truly unique and gorgeous. I wanted to shine them up so I could truly see the beauty, but I thought it best to leave the original patina for the buyer to see. I am not sure how you use them as an oil lamp because I don’t see where the wick would go? I have used them a couple of time just by placing a candle down inside. I would be happy to have someone let me know how to use it as an oil lamp, so if you know, please let me know!

I have tried to research my grandmothers story of the history of these lamps. I have found most of it to be true but have not seen any pictures yet of the Piccadilly Club, or these lamps on the tables though I know it exists somewhere in time. Hopefully collectors out there might fill in the holes. It’s a nice piece of history.

Please do your own research before bidding, I cannot guarantee this story is correct. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Thank You.
