DESCRIPTION

An uncommon first edition of this work.

A selection of puzzling acrostics, compiled by the Hitchin Acrostic Club, containing one-hundred and seventy-one in total.

Prior owner's ink inscription to the head of the editor's note. 

Clippings pasted on to the recto to the last leaf of text, and to the verso to the rear endpaper, a selection of charades and other puzzles.


CONDITION

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with a tear to the tail of the joints. Light discolouration and minor marks to the boards and spine. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with some odd spots. Prior owner's ink inscription to the head of the editor's note.
