Kampot pepper is so unique it is recognised by the World Trade Association as a product with the status of protected geographical indication. This recognition means Kampot pepper can only be produced in the provinces of Kampot and Kep. It obtains its unique and special flavour due to the special soil quality with quartz crystals and high drainage.
