High-grade aluminum construction with a powder coat finish ensures strength and corrosion resistance, while OEM-quality hardware with long-lasting seals ensures long-lasting, smooth operation. Drilling may be required for the installation of the power motor and LED lights. AMP Research offers running boards sized to fit your make and model that achieve an OEM-quality fit, regardless of the length of your truck's cab. Pivoting mounting brackets easily fit onto vehicle body mount bolts or existing frame holes. A centralized control module is installed under the hood for easy power connection to your vehicle's battery and includes heavy grade wiring that runs through door ajar sensors and then through sill plates after drilling. Once underneath the vehicle, the wiring easily connects to power motors that mount directly onto bracket ends and LED lights that are secured to the vehicle frame with double-sided tape. Motors and pivot points are sealed with internal lubrication to prevent mud and grit buildup from compromising moving parts, making them virtually maintenance-free. Each side's running boards can support up to 300 pounds, and the textured surfaces provide maximum traction even when covered in mud, ice, snow, or rain. AMP Research also sells an Extension Arm Kit, which consists of four extension pieces that fit between the standard PowerStep mounting brackets and the running boards to create a step height that is two inches closer to the ground. When the boards retract, the extension pieces fold out of the way, maintaining a flush side profile and adding convenience for lifted trucks and passengers who have difficulty climbing larger steps. AMP Research offers Stainless Steel Trim Strips in multiple lengths that slide easily onto the front edge of newer style running boards for those who want to add an elegant touch of brightwork to their running boards. The Complete Stainless Steel Trim Upgrade Kit provides new-style replacement running boards that bolt on easily to existing arm brackets for those who have older AMP Research running boards of a different shape that are not compatible with these trim strips. In the event that any of your vehicle's LED lights become damaged, replacements are also available.
