Wilwood® D52 Front Caliper Kit (F6188A) This caliper kit provides low-maintenance operation and high temperature reliability for both everyday use and high-performance applications. A pair of machined stainless steel pistons in the D52 two-piston calipers generates a lot of clamping force. Wilwood's D52 caliper kit eliminates rust, bore pitting, and seal failures. Benefits: Aluminum allows for exceptional light weight. Fixed calipers are larger and heavier. Pistons evenly distribute braking force to the brake pads. Pistons are hollow to save weight. Coating that is resistant to heat Wilwood's floating calipers aren't solidly mounted, so they can slide left and right via pins and bushings on the bracket. When the brakes are applied, the piston pushes the entire caliper, causing friction from the brake pads on both sides of the rotor. Because they are lighter, cheaper, and more compact than fixed calipers, floating calipers are suitable for most vehicles. This lightweight caliper kit provides excellent stopping power and can be installed on stock-sized rotors in the stock location. The D52 dual piston aluminum calipers included in the kit have stainless steel pistons and reinforced bridges, making them the strongest replacement calipers available. The forged billet aluminum body allows for significant weight savings over the original cast iron caliper, without the rust and corrosion issues that are common with cast iron parts. When you install this caliper kit on your vehicle, you get the added benefit of two piston pad clamping power.
