A beautifully executed large framed and glazed
Antique Original Signed Watercolour on silk
Wear commensurate with genuine antiquity.
My estimate is around Circe1890-1910 though it is a considered guess only
Several watermarks and light foxing marks appear,  one on the face
These are all largely invisible except upon close inspection
At 4ft away the minor blemishes are near invisible.
In my opinion therefore this is way too good for restoration, which would simply render it as if it were new
which is effectvely often "repainting" entirely on to new silk using this old version as a stencil/transfer.
Removing and carefully cleaning the inside of the glass is all i recommend.
As well as being super expensive to restore it is actually then a process of reproduction not restoration in most cases.
The subject upon close inspection is toying with a small blue posy which adds a tuft of eroticism to the portrayal.
The stunningly elegant Kimono shows long wave forms with flocking white sea birds
The intricate embroidery of the waistband portrays multicoloured plumes which are gilded giving the piece a Klimt like quality
This is a genuine antique of a good stature which I felt compelled to purchase for resale
I only buy items I like and can live with indefinitely.

This is a collection only item due to the glass
I will not remove the glass as the item is way too fragile
I can package securely for transit entirely at your own risk and you must book and arrange it yourself...not negotiable.
Neither art, antiques or glazed/glass items are insured
Broken glass during transit is highly likely to damage the silk irrepairably
It is simply better for me and for you if you collect yourself
