Vintage perfume 1950s EDC Royale by L.T. Piver 70° 200 ml splash in box. Bottle sealed by aluminium plug.


Rare piece of famous French perfumery house's history since 1774.

 

Conditions:

Flacon is new and full of original content. Box, label have some wear. 

Aluminum neck plug was removed to measure the volume.

 

Sizes flacon:

Height 16.5 cm (13 without cap). Width 9 cm. Depth 3.5 cm.

 

Content volume:

Not marked. Measured 210 ml with chemical cylinder.  

 

Launched:

Mentioned on the list of L.T. Piver fragrances, but date unknown.

 

Odor profile:

Crisp and persistent floral fragrance on dry oriental base.

 

Main notes to mention orange, lavender, rose water, carnation, cedar, myrrh, frankincense, vetiver, vanilla, musk.

 

Dating clues:

1. Mark "Eaux de cologne et la lavanda" on box (photo 2).

La Lavanda - alcohol-water tincture of lavender flowers. In 1950s production lavender tinctures declined due to commercial reasons.    

2. Such a style of the bottle appeared in 1951 or earlier as per the ads (https://hprints.com/en/item/84661/?u=1,43).

3. It was common not to mark fragrance volume on the package until late 1950s.
