Vintage 5 Arm Brass Chandelier w/Shades, Compact 16" Diameter x 13" High Quality
  • This old chandelier came from a Turn of the Century Colonial Revival home in Springfield Vermont.  It is from the mid-20th Century, probably the 1940's.
  • It measures 16" diameter x 13" high and has 20" of heavy duty chain and the mounting loop for the canopy and hardware that is now missing.  The size is nice and compact, good for a small foyer, breakfast nook, hallway, etc.
  • The wiring is the original cloth covered copper, which should be replaced.  We didn't test this chandelier and expect it to need rewiring.  The sockets are the original copper with the original printed candle sleeves and parchment shades.
  • The bulbs shown in the chandelier are not included and were used for the purposes of photography.  This item uses standard medium (Edison) based bulbs.
  • The brass is of high quality solid brass, particularly the upper column parts, which are cast and turned brass.  The lower column and arm parts are spun brass.  The finish has aged and has some mottling and green tarnish from age and cleaning.  The arms are a little loose and need to be tightened by removing the column and tightening nuts inside the hub.  This doesn't have to be done, but if the chandelier is rewired, that's when it would be best to do it.
