Lidded Stew Pot

We offer a vintage Helvetia copper stew pot from England. The stew pot holds eight quarts of liquid and measures 10" to the rim, 10 3/4" in overall height with the lid, and 8" in diameter. Handle to handle, the pot measures 10". The lidded stew pot is hefty weighing 9 pounds 3.6 ounces. The under side of the lid is tinned and the inner pot is tinned but shows copper near the lower area as seen in the photographs.

Stamped on the side of the pot with "1919 Helvetia Made in England", the pot dates from the  post World War II era. 

Leon Jaeggi, originally from Switzerland, began manufacturing the Helvetia cookware in London in 1919.
