Mexico Durango 1817 Octavo 1/8 Real War Of Independence Royalist Copper Coin

Rare and historical, this 1/8 real was issued during the Mexican War Of Independence by the state of Durango.
Durango was authorized an emergency mint by the Spanish Crown in 1810 and struck coins in 6 different denominations between 1810 and 1822.
Being sympathetic to the Royalist cause, Durango wanted to maintain Spanish sovereignty over Mexico during the course of the war.
This Octavo features the crowned monogram on the obverse, and the value within spray, date, and the words "EN DURANGO" on the reverse.
High grade example of this coin with minimal wear on the high points. Fully visible date. Off-center strike, common for this issue.
