Xuly. Bët means "keep your eyes open" in wolof. It is the Parisian fashion house founded in 1991, by Lamine Kouyaté, and now having a resurgence in 2020. This piece is somewhat minimalist from Kouyaté's normal fare, but it screams 90's nonetheless, with its slightly athletic/streetwear vibes. This dress is made from a super stretchy spandex material in black, with a lovely shiny sheen. It features raglan style inset short sleeves and deep v-neckline. The bodice, or upper dress section is meant to be fitted, but once you get past the waist, the skirt section flows down loosely, with an a-line silhouette. All seams have been finished with a special encased overlock stitching, and they are the only decoration present. A bright red Xuly. Bët label is present at the left lower side seam. It reads 'XULY. Bët, Funkin' Fashion, Catalogue XULY. Bët Tous droits réservés'. No other labels present.
