Tolerates clay loam and sandy soils. Can be placed in shaded areas or in direct sun. Prune annually in summer months. Fertilize with general purpose fertilizer (10-10-10) in early spring.

Germination Procedure: Cold stratify seeds in the freezer for 3 months to simulate winter conditions and thus break dormancy before sowing. Sow seeds in a cold frame. Cover seeds lightly with sand. Keep seeds and soil moist. Seeds germinate sporadically.
