OLIVE TREE (Olea europaea)

Evergreen tree or shrub

Grows 26-49' tall

Produces edible fruit

Hardy to zone 10 and higher

Native to the Mediterranean, Asia and Africa. The silvery green leaves are oblong in shape.  The trunk is typically gnarled and twisted.

Trees have very long life, some as old as 1500 years.  A great addition to any yard.

Germination requires scarification (use sandpaper or a knife to nick the seed's outer coat before planting)
