Original teal cloth with black lettering to spine. Top edge stained brown. All edges trimmed.

Book Condition: Very good With clean boards, straight corners with sunning and rubbing to spine edges, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the interior is clean and lightly browned. Previous owners name of FEP.

The well-known musicial "Fiddler on the Roof" opened on Broadway in 1964, and "was the first musical theatre run in history to surpass 3,000 performances" - it held the record for the longest-running musical on Broadway for almost ten years, until surpassed by "Grease", winning nine Tony Awards. The author, Solomon Naumovich Rabinovich (1859-1916) is known by his pen name "Sholom Aleichem", the traditional greeting in Hebrew. He began writing in both Hebrew and Russian.
