(No VCR player?? instructions also available on-line – see below). The box has rub marks and store
sticker residue on the outside.
Some manufacturer information follows:
This is a kit of the Bluenose II – the Bluenose II was built
as a replica of the original Bluenose. One
of the most famous names in sailing history is the Bluenose. Launched in 1921
from Nova Scotia as a fishing vessel to operate in the rough waters off the
coast of Newfoundland, she became very famous for her speed, winning all the
great classic sailing races on the American east coast. Her glorious career was
finished in 1946 on a reef near Haiti, but her memory is still going strong.
Her fame has been embossed in history, with its image now found on the Canadian
dime and stamps. A true copy - Bluneose
II - was launched in 1964
The hull of the Billing Boats kit is assembled in halves, on
a table. This allows for easier assembly and is quite useful in learning
plank-on-frame or plank-on-bulkhead construction! Once each half is done you join the two for a
completed hull. Make sure you work each half in opposite directions so that
when joined they marry up evenly!
This kit contains English translation instructions, in addition to French,
German, Danish, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.
All measurements in the booklet are in Metric.
