Oriental Antiques from Collector to Collector

Description:

This great Japanese floor vase is thickly casted and very heavy.  It has intricate detail depicting a continuous scene all around the vase with Japanese mythology God of Wind Fujin  (風神 or 風天) holding a bird feather fan and standing upon his wind's bag as he's about to strike.

The opposite side of the vase depicts great turbulent wind with an eagle hunting other small birds.

The stand is matching with the vase with four feet and similar background pattern.  I've not able to identify the casted mark.

Dimensions:

This floor vase with matching stand is 24"H X 9"W (.59 cm).  Weight 24 lbs.

Shipping weight with double boxing is approx. 28 - 30 lbs.

Condition:

Minor rubbing/impact to the raised bronze and face of Fujin.  The floor vase is permanently glued to the stand.  Minor stains.  Please study photos carefully for further condition detail.

Age / Dating: Japanese, Meiji period.
