If you are a big fan of Underground Comix's then you might want to keep an eye on my up and coming auctions! I have over 150 to list over the next few months. In regards to grading it will be somewhat a general grading, if I was to grade in great detail each one it would take way too much time. All of what I have are excellent readers and in Very Nice condition, all are very tight with no pages falling out, rips or tears some may have sight wear! This item will be shipped in a plastic bag with a cardboard backing. If there is an issue with a particular issue I will describe the problem or issue.

Let’s be honest here, these were bought, owned & collected by Hippies or equivalent! Taking care of or storing their new comix was not the first thing on their minds!

I am NOT a Comix (Comic) guy, my life has been spent being a Music guy (over 30 years)! As a child I did go down to the local Head Shop and after going through the Blacklight Tunnel I would buy one or two Underground Comix's, I would need to smuggle them into the house and hide them from the parents!

I will do my best to give you as much information as possible such as a photo of the front & back cover along with a photo of the inside cover, where the publishing info is. Again, I will do my best in trying to find out what printing a particular issue might be. In my research this has been very difficult in some cases! I believe you will be happy with your purchase, overall for being as old as they are this collection is in excellent condition for their age…

Underground comix are small press or self-published comic books that are often socially relevant or satirical in nature. They differ from mainstream comics in depicting content forbidden to mainstream publications by the Comics Code Authority, including explicit drug use, sexuality, and violence. They were most popular in the United States in the late 1960s and 1970s, and in the United Kingdom in the 1970s.

Robert Crumb, Gilbert Shelton, Barbara "Willy" Mendes, Trina Robbins and numerous other cartoonists created underground titles that were popular with readers within the counterculture scene. Punk had its own comic artists like Gary Panter. Long after their heyday, underground comix gained prominence with films and television shows influenced by the movement and with mainstream comic books, but their legacy is most obvious with alternative comics.
