We offer a set of twelve Medallion pattern knives featuring a helmeted Roman soldier in an oval medallion. The Medallion pattern was popular in the 1850 and 1860 eras. The twelve knives are unmarked.

We are assuming that the knives are silver plate, but it is possible that they are coin silver. The knives have normal micro scratches but there is no wear or rubbing that exposes any under metal. A magnet will not hold onto the knives. When tested with matching ice cubes, the ice cube on a sterling knife melted quicker than the medallion knife and the ice on the Medallion knife melted significantly faster than on a stainless knife.

Each Medallion knife is 7 3/8" in length. The blade is 3 7/8" and 11/16" in width.
