NGC graded, serialized and encapsulated silver basilicon coin
of joint Easter Roman Emperors Andronicus II and
Michael IX who reigned between  1294 and 1340 AD

Obverse shows the facing figure of Christ.
Reverse shows Emperors standing side by side.

Under the trouble plagued reign of Andronicus II and his
son Michael XI, the Byzantine Empire began its decline, losing many territories
to the Turks. Michael died young in 1320 and Andronicus was forced to
abdicate.. living out his last few years as a monk in a monastery.

Authenticated by the NGC, it was given the grade "CHOICE VERY FINE" with a
3/5 for Strike and a 3/5 for Surface
