DESCRIPTION

The two volume first edition of this brightly illustrated study of the history, manufacture and historical and cultural significance of both oriental and European hand woven carpets and rugs.

Limited to 1000 numbered sets, of which this is set 294.

With the first volume containing both illustrations and text, and the second volume dedicated to plates.

With a colour folding frontispiece to volume I, along with ten further plates, and the second volume consisting of 205 plates and maps, nineteen of which are in colour.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to spine heads. Light marks to boards. Front and rear joint of volume I starting, with board holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
