Vintage set of postcards-prototypes of Russian cars from the time of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
In the Soviet Union, there were four brands of passenger cars – "Zhiguli" and "Lada" from VAZ, "Moskvich" from AZLK, " Zaporozhets "from ZAZ and" Volga " from GAZ. There were, of course, more representative " Seagulls "and" Zils", yes" invalid " SeAZ and native Latvian minibuses RAF, but these vehicles are still not intended for a wide range of private consumers.
Four large car factories have a strong enough potential to create a wide variety of cars-both in design and technical characteristics. However, for many years the Soviet automobile industry produced, although officially different, but essentially almost identical models – the years passed, the cars remained the same. nevertheless, it is impossible to say that the soviet designers sat still, reveling in their own achievements. At least, the designers definitely experimented – this is evidenced by the mass of prototype cars, which for various reasons did not go into the series. however, on the basis of some of them, full-fledged mass cars later appeared, but, unfortunately, these cars were already outdated at the time of their appearance – especially in comparison with their western counterparts.
