Item for sale is an original mid-century modern oil painting by Brazilian artist Vicente Carneiro (1927 - 2005).  This modern abstract painting depicts a woman's face from several angles and interspersed within a matrix of lines and colors.  I'm calling the painting "Faces", but unfortunately, the artists original title has been lost with transfer of ownership.  Carneiro created a series of works based on this concept of faces.  Canvas measures 32" W x 36" H, framed measures 33" x 37".  Framed with a medium brown colored wood that compliments the colors of the painting.  Based on other similar style works by Carneiro, this work appears to have been created in the late 60's or early 70's.

Vicente Carneiro (1927-2005) was a Brazilian artist who often combined figurative and abstract elements in his work. He attended the School of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro and the School of Architecture at the University of Brazil. He was one of the leading architects and scenographers responsible for the decoration of Rio’s famous Carnival Balls.  Carneiro exhibited in the United States, Mexico, and South America in the 60's, 70's and 80's. His work is exhibited in many public and private collections.
