How easy are they to keep?
Angel Fish are relatively easy to keep. They can be fragile when small but grow up to be a hardy, strong fish.

How big do they grow?
Angel Fish will grow to a size up to 15cm. The ones you will receive are around 1-2", or similar to a 50p coin size.

What is the best sized tank for these?
We recommend aquariums of 100 litres or more to house a Angelfish however the bigger the aquarium the better. Due to their shape they will do best in slow moving water so make sure there's not too much flow or areas with low flow.

What is best to feed them?
A good quality flake or pellet is perfect, but most importantly is to offer a varied diet. The will also appreciate feeds of live or frozen foods such as blood worm & daphnia

What water conditions do they require?
Naturally come from quite acidic water, so best to keep the water quite soft so would recommend a pH of 6-7.5 and a temperature of 25C. Most importantly keeping stable water parameters and be careful during water changes to avoid extreme fluctuations in pH and temperature.

What can they be kept with?
Suited to a medium sized community tank, with Gouramis, Dwarf Cichlids and larger Tetra. Natural predators, they should not be kept with Guppies and smaller tetra like Neon's. Please see the compatibility chart for more information.

Where are they from?
Originally they are from South America: Brazil, Columbia, Guyana & Peru. Most specimens available now are captive bred. Ours Angelfish are locally bred, strong and feeding well.

Can they be bred in captivity?
Breeding Angelfish can make an interesting project. Once you have a breeding pair they will readily spawn and lay eggs. There is plenty of information on breeding Angelfish.
