The Decorative Art Tile Company - Circa 1890

  "Flower In Vase"

-- Antique * Transfer Printed * Hand Tinted --

Presenting a late Victorian floral design of three English daisies in a vase, surrounded by a complex floral ground pattern, created by "The Decorative Art Tile Company" of England, circa 1890.

Condition: Fair

The tile's floral design is slightly impacted by it left tip experiencing a loss of transfer, due to a biscuit blemish.  However, the still presents well if it is placed in an original English, cast iron, fireplace frame, or if it is framed for the wall...the frame being able to hide the tile's blemishes.

The verso is free of mortar residue, and of coal smoke stains, but shows some water stains from wood contact.  The tile displays a stamped tile design number and a bar type grip pattern used by "The Decorative Art Tile Company" during this period.
