Traditionally used by shoemakers, cobblers, shoe repair shops and DIY shoe repair enthusiasts to make and repair shoes by adding steel shanks for arch support. Men shoe shank made of curved wood, plastic or steel inserted on the bottom of the footwear to give support to the arch of the foot. Also makes the shoe sturdy.   
  • Made in England. Vintage 1970s stock.
  • Men curved steel shanks length 4.5 inches
  • Width 5/8" and thickness: 1.5 mm.
  • Light and flexible which can be curved to desired heel height.
  • Footwear shank is inserted on the bottom of the footwear between the heel and the ball of the foot just below the arch. A shank is needed to add sturdiness and extra support to the arch area of the shoe.
