Each lantern comes complete and includes a fuel fill funnel, spare parts kit, spirit bottle, mantles and user manual in English. The Petromax can burn for 8 hours on 1 quart of kerosene. The light output of the Petromax lantern results from a simple, yet fascinating principle: Under pressure, the kerosene moves into a vaporizing tube, where the evaporated fuel is prepped for combustion at the burner nozzle. The fuel combusts to heat the mantle impregnated with luminous salts, which results in a bright, warm light. In order for this principle to work flawlessly, the more than 200 pieces of the lantern are still assembled by hand.
