Congress / 3

Author: SEIFFER, Sam and d. a. levy (eds.)
Title: Congress / 3
Publication: New York: Samuel Seiffer, 1967
Edition: First Edition

Description: First Edition. Staplebound. Quarto, 44pp. A near fine copy in the publisher's side-stapled printed covers. Bottom staple not quite holding at the rear, as issued by the publisher; still fully intact and internally clean and bright. A scarce volume of beat and experimental poetry, from the height of the "mimeo revolution," and with contributions from most of the notable writers from the "Cleveland School," whose central figure was editor d. a. levy. According to the verso of the title page, the cover image is taken from a photo of the "Be-In" at the lagoon in front of the Cleveland Art Museum. Today a rather bucolic, stately public park, it was during the late 60s a center of social and cultural activism. Near fine.
