Expert commentary and biography: After studying at ENSAD (National School of Decorative Arts), he joined the famous Cartier jewelry store on rue de la Paix in Paris as a designer. He then joined Pierre Cartier on 5th Avenue in New York where he was a draftsman then head of department. He will spend 23 years in New York where he begins the watercolor on the basis of preparatory drawings in pencil. Back in France he made many watercolors and drawings whose main subjects are the picturesque French villages of Seine et Marne and Normandy. alexandre genaille is a nature lover, he draws and paints forests and their trees of all species, rivers and flower gardens. He likes all seasons but he particularly likes winter and its snowy landscapes. His return from New York marks the development of new artistic activities such as stencils, lithography, painting or sculpture. In the artist's drawings we immediately perceive the precision of the architect but above all the artist's sensitivity to the spectacle of nature.
