Offered for sale in a Buy-It-Now fixed price auction is a custom assembled 6-piece Snap on PT850 switching yoke repair kit. The components are a switching yoke made from cast metal, both plastic forward and reverse buttons, a detent pin and detent spring kit plus a new ME7B91 hammer case o'ring oil seal. These are Snap On OEM parts.
Service Notes
Snap on Tools typically has problems with plastic yoke breakage on the PT850. The plastic yoke breaking offered this one advantage over the cast metal yokes. The forward and reverse black plastic buttons could typically be removed with a thin bladed screwdriver. (Black plastic yokes are obsolete). The black yoke and plastic forward and reverse buttons can be lightly lubed and reinserted without breaking the retaining tangs on the buttons. These metal yokes that are the current factory upgrade that will destroy the buttons anytime a removal is attempted.
ADDITIONAL SERVICE NOTES TO ALL PT850 TOOL OWNERS
If your forward and reverse buttons have a slight sort of bump to overcome when you press them to switch rotation from forward to reverse then the CASTING NUB located at 6:00 by my felt tip marker line is probably NOT worn off. The bump is the normal operation of the detent system. The detent system uses the: switching yoke, spring, detent pin AND the casting bump on the front end plate to lock the forward and reverse setting of your tool. You must always feel this bump or the front end plate may need replacement because the casting is worn off/out and is flat.
