These are lovely decorative items, as you will see from the photos it is not huge (18 cm), and not hugely heavy thick copper, but just so very pretty and decorative (and clever!) The decoration is done by hand and comes from the Anatolia area of Turkey. This is not vintage, although I sell mostly vintage, this falls within the 'jolly pretty' category. What has confused me horribly here is that the dial for the wick says made in China, I am thinking that the lamp mechanism was made in China, but the body made in Turkey. I have found others that are the same, but could not see the dials on them.
It does have a wick that goes up and down, but I have no idea if it works, I can't see why not, but it is small so would not be a huge light emitting item.
