This antique decorative textile is approximately from 1820-1830's China. This piece features rank birds that would be seen on rank badges at the time. Rank badges were a symbol of status in China, with each bird representing a different rank level. This textile serves as a decorative piece, with a phoenix in the center and other rank birds surrounding it including a silver pheasant, goose, mandarin duck, paradise flycatcher, golden pheasant, and peacock. This piece is in good condition considering its age with some professional restoration.
